Teaching English - To keep students interested in learning, make the lesson fun

How can teachers keep teenage students interested in learning English?

According to Englishpath methodology, the key to a successful lesson is to make the lesson fun.  To maximize student's learning potential and acquisition of English speaking skills,  English conversation practice should involve interactive activities that create a relaxed atmosphere where learners feel confident to experiment with language.

To keep students motivated, the activities should be varied and not too repetitive.  Practice exercises should include role plays, competitions, games, quizzes and discussions.  The lesson planned should always be a mix of individual, paired, grouped and whole class activities.

To help English teachers, Englishpath provides resources created over the course of more than ten years.

For secondary schools, we have assembled and compiled some of these great and funny English conversation exercises into a handy workbook Englishpath.org - Fun English Conversation Activities Workbook.

The book is structured as a student textbook/workbook and includes activity worksheets for 12 lessons. Teaching notes and an answer key are included.  Read more about the book.
